Procedure: How To Make Chai in Pakistani style

  • Dum Ki Chai:

Ingredients:

– Water  2 cups

– Tea  1 tbsp

– Sugar  2 tbsp

– Milk 3 cups

– Green cardamom  2

– Chopped ginger 1 tbsp

  Method:

  1. In a pan, boil water and then add crushed cardamom and chopped ginger.
  2. Boil till the water is reduced to half.
  3. After that, add tea and sugar in it and cover it with a lid. This covering of the lid is called “Dum”.
  4. Then leave it for 5 to 7 minutes.
  5. Then add milk and boil again.
  6. Now pour in teacups and serve hot.
  • Doodh Patti Chai:

Ingredients:

– Milk 2 cups

– Water ½ cups

– Tea (Patti) 2 tsp

– Sugar 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Take a pan, add water, tea and sugar to boil.
  2. Boil till the water is reduced to half.
  3. Now add milk and boil again.
  4. Then simmer it for 2 to 3 minutes and then mix it well.
  5. Serve hot.
  • Masala Chai:

Ingredients:

– Water 2 cups

– Black tea 1 tbsp

– Milk 1 cup

– Whole cloves 2

– Cinnamon sticks 1

– Cardomom pods 1

– Granulated sugar 1 tbsp

– Ginger 1 tsp

Method:

  1. In a grinder machine, crush cinnamon, cardamom and cloves.
  2. After that, take a pan to add water and all the crushed spices and ginger and then boil.
  3. Then remove the pan from the flame and cover for a few minutes.
  4. Put on flame, add milk and sugar and again boil the mixture.
  5. Then again remove the pan from flame and cover it.
  6. Stir it. Serve hot.
  • Kashmiri Chai:

 Ingredients:

– Almond as per choice

– Pistachio as per required

– Water 1 cup

– Milk ½ kg

– Sugar as per required

– Green tea 1 tsp

– Coldwater 1 cup

– Soda 1 pinch

 Method:

  1. Take a pan, add a cup of water and add some green cardamom and tea powder.
  2. Then cook it for a few minutes until it reduces to half.
  3. Now add a pinch of soda and leave it for 2-3 minutes on a low flame.
  4. When it looks brownish turn off the stove and add a cup of cold water.
  5. After that, add water slowly and keep beating.
  6. Then add milk and mix until kahwa becomes pinkish.
  7. Place it on the stove at low flame to give it dum.
  8. Then pour it in teacups.
  9. Garnish it with almonds and pistachio and serve hot.
  • Kahwa:

Ingredients:

– Tea powder 3 tsp

– Saffron 3 pinch

– Cloves 2

– Water 2 cups

– Honey 2 tsp

– Almonds 7

Method:

  1. Take a pan, add water with cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
  2. Boil it well.
  3. After that, add tea powder and leave it for 7 minutes on a low flame.
  4. Then dissolve saffron in a little bit of water.
  5. Afterwards, strain the tea in cups.
  6. Then add almonds, sugar and honey and serve hot.
